WHY?
Onkaar and Avneet’s life changing journey started when Onkaar was aged 8 years old and Avneet was aged 6 years old. They both won a writing competition! And they’ve been writing ever since!
3 books later and having achieved bestseller status, they reflected back on how their journey started. They realised how important and inspiring their competition win was for each of them. So, they wanted to spread this energy, inspire more fellow children and so the SHINE Awards were born!
They selected award categories to reflect the important themes and skills which they feel young people should nurture.
Onkaar & Avneet believe that everyone has a light inside them which should be celebrated and allowed to SHINE.
